Pangkor Island is one of the famous tourist centers in Malaysia. Thus, the construction of this mosque is an idea from the results of discussions between the former Menteri Besar of Perak, YB Dato ‘Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Pangkor with Datuk Abdul Latiff Mirasa as well as experts and officials from Yayasan Restu who intend to build an iconic mosque for the local Muslim community in Teluk Gedong, Pulau Pangkor. Apart from that, this idea is also seen as an effort to attract local and foreign visitors to see for themselves the uniqueness of the mosque which has the concept of 1,000 selawat as its interior decoration.
The mosque was first built on March 7, 2014 under the supervision of the Pejabat Daerah Manjung. Meanwhile, the calligraphy found in this mosque has been confirmed by the Jabatan Agama Islam and Jabatan Mufti Negeri Perak. The allocation is channeled from the Federal Government through the Unit Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan, Jabatan Perdana Menteri (ICU JPM), Unit Perancang Ekonomi Negeri Perak dan Pejabat Menteri Besar Perak.
